The Kings Arms, Reepham market square NR10 4JJ – 4.4 miles. very reasonable good food, good ales/beer. No website, but probably doesn’t need one – here is one online review. 01603 870 345

This is a little biased as it's my local pub BUT it is a great place full of charm and character, no jukebox music to drown you out just good ales and conversation. They have a good selection of food with a specials board and throughout the summer there is a live jazz band in the court yard. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.”

The Dial House, Reepham NR10 4JJ 2.5 miles. A lovely Georgian town house/hotel, recently refurbished. A must try. 01603 879900

The Fox, Hevingham  NR10 5LY- 4.8 miles. 17th century coaching inn, recently refurbished, with welcoming log fire. 01603 755 362 cost £10-£20 main course. No website.

Spice of India, Horsford NR10 3DD– 5.2 miles

The Earle Arms, Heydon NR11 6AD - 5.3 miles – our personal favourite - a cosy and friendly pub with fabulous food – horse racing theme. 01263 587376. Every third Wednesday of the month – farmers night, pub more or less booked out from 7.30pm

The Black Boys Inn, Aylsham  market square NR11 6EH - 6.1 miles. 01263 732122

The Walpole Arms, NR11 7AR- Itteringham -7.4 miles – up market gastropub  - Recently changed hands, so far good reports! 01263 587258

The Buckinghamshire Arms, Blickling/Aylsham NR11 6NF - 7.1   - nice traditional pub on one side, with lovely fire in winter, restaurant on the other. 01263 732133
